"This declaration will serve as a basis for Africa's common position in the global climate change process, No country should ever have to choose between development aspirations and climate action."
~ NAIROBI DECLARATION
The inaugural Africa Climate Summit, championed by HE President Ruto, aimed to address the increasing exposure to climate change and its associated costs, both globally and particularly in Africa. With the expectation of escalating climate crises in terms of frequency and intensity, urgent action is required to mitigate these challenges.
The Summit served as a platform to inform, frame, and influence commitments, pledges, and outcomes, ultimately leading to the development of the Nairobi Declaration.
The Africa Climate Exhibition will serve as a platform to showcase global solutions, innovations, and projects aimed at mitigating climate change challenges. Exhibitors from around the world will participate, providing an opportunity for attendees of the Africa Climate Summit and Africa Climate Week to interact, learn, and adopt practical solutions to climate change. The exhibition is scheduled to take place from 4th to 8th September 2023 .
